As we start a new year, it is always a time of reflection which sometimes leads to decisions...ONE of the major lessons relearned after the fire is how very important it is to listen and follow your heart (I feel like the smoke is just clearing from my mind and lungs). My HEART tells me to concentrate on the art work and doing a line of products and digital items and classes.

With mixed emotions, with a lot of thought and prayer... months of struggling with health issues I have come to a decision....

To sell the store: the inventory, the equipment, the web site...it includes my help for 3 months and i will help and teach at 2 retreats...$26,000.00. If you or someone you know is interested please let me know

I will still be coming to Great Falls on a regular basis to support the store and to teach classes and share my own line of products. I know the special friendships I have made are forever in my heart and definitely something that was meant to be!!! We will continue to get together and share our excitement about paper crafting! Great Falls is home to me which is special to me because I have never had a place I always want to come back to.

wow retreat/craft show has been so fun...and i have spent time with some wonderful people!!!

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. And on goes the story about Christmas Eve. And the jolly old man in whom we believe.

Have you even wondered how Santa came to be so important to Christmas and to you and to me? Well, it all began a long time ago the night before Christ to earth was to go.

All prepared to make Christ's birth well announced with angels and music and anthems pronounced. But alas, all had forgotten in the final rush How to make Christ's birthday remembered to us.

The kingdom was searched for the most excellent plan that would help us remember God's gift to man A saintly old fellow, so Jolly and gay, came up with the best plan that was offered that day.

He said, "Send a fellow each year at this time, who would help people be happy and comfort their minds. he could help man remember that God loves us so By bringing presents to both friend and foe.

"He would show by example that true love and joy come only when shared with each girl and each boy." Heaven decided that Santa's plan would be just right and Santa was asked to play the part that very first night.

So from the first Christmas right down to today when one heard the bells jingling and saw that big sleigh, they knew it was Santa making his way to remind the world of the love Jesus gave.

So this night before Christmas when you hear Santa come, Remember he's doing it for the love of God's Son. Remember that he teaches as did Christ of old, that to give of one's self is more precious than gold.

This tag was beyond fun! :) Everytime I do a tag, I have to use my FAVORITE tools. If any of you truely know me...you know that is my non-stick craft mat and the foam ink applicators! I adore them! :) How I started the tag, though, was to use some self made Perfect Pearls Spray that Tim Holtz demo-ed a while back. The spray I used was made with Walnut Stain Distress Reinker and Gold Perfect Pearls. I sprayed the PP Spray on the craft mat and then put the tag in it. I thought that would be fun! ;) I waited for that to dry and then stamped the sweet Santa image using the stamp from Tim Holtz for Stamper's Anonymous - Just Believe with Jet Black Archival Ink from Ranger. Then, I inked the tag using Tim Holtz's Distress ink in Aged Mahogany, Pine Needles, and Brushed Courderoy. I thought it still needed something so I got out the STICKLES!!!!! I went around the decorative scrolling with Gold Ice Stickles. I finished up with the "Legend has it" Sticker from 7gypsies from my stash. :) But....I got the sticker sheet from MOMS. I used raffia instead of ribbon for the top.

tuesday night watching ncis but keep falling asleep first time in days i have sat down to relax. i did everthing i could to make do in the studio with what we had but it just is not working...dave and i talked last night and decided we had to add peg board to opposite end where i will have room for products...
so excited just exhausted right now...5am is so early...excited that since deciding to flip the areas in the studio....in one day i feel better about the visual and organization of the studio than in 7 days of working on it....i am still so behind but the results will be better work flow and creations. now i am excited to take pictures to show it as we get areas down.

wow the time goes so fast...and i still need to post pictures of retreat for everyone and well talk about what the classes and time in montana meant to me...several of them just spoke straight to my heart. and seeing people i care about was so wonderful. i am very grateful for the friendships and experiences in montana this last 18 months...and i will be back!

we have a web site almost ready and i need to get content loaded on it. i still have to clean out old stuff and unpack more of the store stuff. my house is messy (shsh but dave and my son just don't keep things the way i do--one word clutter!!!) so been working everyday going through boxes from who knows when and cleaning--dusting getting rid of-- reorganizing....i am so excited to get things in order...life is so much better when it is organized!!! life is relaxing when things are put away and or decluttered.... but first i have to clean the closets.... must remember to balance.

i forgot i haven't downloaded my pictures off my camra....tomorrow. but it was a wonderful time. heidi was amazing the projects were beautiful and do-able. we had food! and everyone worked on projects. lots of products to shop for....a whole little store. thank you to everyone who came!

i am so excited....i love great falls and miss it and all my friends.....
have u ever felt like you are living in a fog...alway tired and confused it is hard to do things. so hard when you are use to going hard all day...well that is how i have felt since the fire. it has been a long road to feeling better. hind sight is always better than forsight....i tried to do too much to soon after the fire. I did not realize just how sick i was...the doctor's tried to tell me it could take 6 months to come out of the shock but i did not want to believe i was in shock. all the medecine had to take to combat issues + stress caused my diabetes out of control. they have adjusted my meds 2-3 times....i did not realize how bad till i finally had a day with blood sugar under 200 (perfect is 100 and mine were in the 300's) in 4+ months...it felt like the sun was shining i had energy my mind was sharper than it has been since may. I have more tests to go through to check for permanent damage then they will do another meds adjustment...the doc told me to understand that i could be completely insulin dependent in 4 weeks if the next adjustment doesn't bring the sugars down. why am i telling this? because for the last 5 months i have tried to cope and continue to work...i have always been a private person but i think sometimes it is good to open up. I was so energized thursday when it was finally 147 i called dave and just wanted to cry...i felt like i had just woken from a long long sleep....i had the energy to work on ideas ...the sad side--i only had a week left to retreat. so i don't have 1/2 done what i wish i had done. so i will just keep plugging along and enjoy the journey instead of striving for perfection. enjoy the time we will have together enjoy the fun new products...enjoy heidi's inspiration.....

I can tell you this: I am TOTALLY addicted to alcohol inks. (my name is heidi, and I’m an alcoholinkaholic..LOL ok, sorry). So, I have been thinking and experimenting and playing with them, and I am amazed it’s taken me so long to give them a chance. Anyway… so these are just some of the products we’ll be using on this project entitled “Time and Season”.

This project is about the NOW; it’s about documenting what it is that make this ‘time and season’ beautiful, unique and focusing on the best part. (i still have a few finishing touches to add...)

I have always loved the imagery of the ‘plum blossoms’ in oriental art… and when I learned a little more about what the ‘plum blossom’ symbolized, I knew that I wanted to do something that would represent that… in China, the plum blossom is the very first sign of spring. Before any leaves are on the trees, and usually under a blanket of snow, the flowers of the plum (more like an apricot I think) tree bloom and defy the cold, and against all odds thrive in the worst circumstances. Throughout generations, these little blossoms have symbolized ‘resilience, perseverance in the face of adversity…courage and an undaunted spirit.’ I love that metaphor, and as so many of us are facing changes and challenges, I think it’s important to bloom beautifully despite harsh conditions… that is what this project is all about! We’ll be using “clear paper” by Bazzill and the alcohol inks to create the cover… and the book is filled with beautiful Scenic Route paper, i added in some of my clear extras and even some of my "invisibles" chipboard- i have been hoarding some just for this project. i will be teaching this project in Great Falls, Montana on Oct. 24th

Hello Everyone!!! hope you are all well...I learned the hard way just how run down my immune system was/is. I got a summer cold as i was leaving Great Falls then the flu and now another cold that is causing a little larngitis. now that i have caught up with my family by catching whatever bug one of them had...we have had a birthday party...my sister came by yesterday for a surprise visit which was nice. I have been cleaning...and moving stuff. we have one truck load left to hall away then a bedroom full of old stuff that has been in my studio taking up space for years to go through then get rid of....but we have started unpacking and setting up the studio...it takes so much time but i have taken a few pictures so i can show the progress as we get going. I can't wait to see everyone in October. well i have to go get some meds and try to get more tags for our techinque tags....they are gonna be fun....i miss everyone!

Create a 6x10” mini book using exclusively designed clear embellishments and unique
cutting and trimming techniques to create a deceptively simple mini-book that is perfect
for compiling random memories. Book is organized into ‘chapters’ that separate events or
people and unifies them in a comprehensive book. Great to capture a year, or a season or
just ANYTHING! Great gift idea! Kit is created from bright blues and greens: Bazzill
cardstock and Heidi Swapp papers. Covers created using Claudine Hellmuth paints and
sticky backed canvas. Book is bound using either a crop o dile and book rings or a Zutter
Bind it all machine.

this 6x12 book can be used for all different subject matter.. but mostly capturing the
HERE and NOW. The use is a combination of journaling and compiling inspirational
quotes and pairing those quotes with photos that you have or can capture of your world
around you! Book is made up of exclusive inspirational page elements, put together in
clever ways. It’s one of those projects that captures the journey, and when you look back
on it, you’ll be so grateful that you took the time to add to it along the way. It will serve
to motivate and inspire… and be a treasure for years to come. Class will include a miniworkshop
on journaling along with some great prompts to write about to capture the here
and now, and some tips on HANDWRITING! We’ll be glimmer misting and stamping
and creating something you’ll LOVE to look at!

ONCE IN A LIFETIME book project

This project was designed for Creative Escape 2009! I can’t give too many details yet,
because it’s still top secret, but it’s fabulous. It’s FUN and has lots of surprises! The
projects involves: painting, inking, cutting, pasting, stickers, and even a mallet!!
Oh, and it’s got lots of sparkly stuff!
Supplies:
8-10 photos of a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience (can be added later)
paper trimmer w/ ruler

glossy accents adhesive (something quick dry)

paper piercer

I heard a quote last night about fire how the fire destroys everything in its path and when a life is touched by it the life will forever be changed....i can testify to the truthfulness of this statement....shock, sadness, fear, devastation and the powerful reminder of what is really important...being alive is important. Knowing that only 1 person persisted in making sure life was for sure. (thank you Jenn.) needing time to heal and wait for things to settle so i could make good decisions for business, me personally, for my family (my children were truly affected by the potential of losing both parents at once) thank you heather for giving me the time and space to decide. I will be closing the retail store Mountains of Memories Scrapbooks. I will be opening an internet store...mountains of memories & more. all punch cards and gift certificates can be used byAug 26th (last day for retail store) or they may be used on my internet store. quickutz club members will be mailed club dies with a handmade card in september.

I have met some of the most amazing people in Great falls and i would like to thank you. I hope to come back and do retreats at a local hotel with fun new products for sale...please let me know if you are interest (3rd week of October....) i will do 4 different fun classes, crops, door prizes...and a quickutz club event so make sure you let me know if you are interested in coming.

family news: Hi! George Strait concert was awesome....everyone has been here for food and we had a bonfire Sunday night with everyone it was so fun but we had lots of people ....the grandkids love playing on the five acres....we rode 4 wheelers, jumped on trampoline, swings were going with all the kids.

store news: I took a few minutes to get the new teresa collins paper lines ordered yesterday.

have a great week....we are going to see rodney atkins wed. night and dave, me and amy are going to see kenny c on friday night. still want to squeeze in the new harry potter movie...emma's party is saturday. wow family time vacation is making me tired......
